Hello Yellow!

Today I feel honored to be Mary Fish’s Guest Stamper and I want to thank her for displaying one of my card creations on her blog Stampin’ Pretty.

I love using my embossing folders, however often feel limited to use only one texture per card. Then I questioned myself… Why limit anything?

The end result I feel is very stunning and makes you just want to pick this card up and take a closer look.

Here is an up close look at the grand texture detail.

A few helpful hints if you try to recreate this card is to punch your 1″ circles first and then emboss them. I started layering from the bottom and worked my way up, and then trimmed the circles to be even with the 4 1/4″ width of the card after I had them all placed. Then I inserted pearls where there were gaps between the circles. Don’t forget you can use a sponge dauber to make Whisper White Organza Ribbon any color you want, I chose Very Vanilla.

Supplies:

Stamp Set: Fresh Vintage (Sale-A-Bration)
Paper:  Very Vanilla, So Saffon, Daffodil Delight, More Mustard
Ink:  More Mustard, Very Vanilla
Tools:  Framelits Labels Collection, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, a mix of Stampin’ Up! Textured Impressions Embossing Folders, spounge dauber,1″ Circle Punch
The Perfect Touch:  Pearls Basic Jewels, Hemp Twine, Whisper White Organza Ribbon

  1. Hi Kristen, saw your card over on Mary’s blog ! I love all the texture you used and the colors remind me of Spring! Very cool idea not to limit the number of texture you use per card. Thanks for sharing your idea.

  2. Hi Kristen! I saw your beautiful card on Mary Fish’s blog and it just blew me away. I think I’m going to attempt to CASE this card. It’s fabulous!!!
    Thanks for sharing!

  3. Saw this on Mary’s site and was amazed at the colors and textures. So original! How long does a card like this take to make?! I bookmarked your site for future ref. Bravo, from South Carolina!

    • It took me about 3 hours to work out all the kinks, but I think if I was to make it again I could probably make it in about half an hour.

  4. Hey Kristen (this is Bart’s wife). He showed me your website/blog and I love your creativity. I recently got a Big Shot and joined a Stampin Up monthly club. I’m so excited about all the fun stuff available for crafting. I LOVE this card you did – the embossing folders are one of my favorite things. I also got the Fresh Vintage set through Sale-A-Bration. I think I will attempt to make a version of this design myself. It’s beautiful!

    • LOL! He always tells me that you make cards too, I did not know you were into Stampin’ Up! too. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Big Shot! You should totally try to make it, its relativly simple once you get everything punched. It was easier to punch the circles and then emboss them. Stampin’ Up! is the coolest! I love how everything always matches :)

  5. Saw this on Mary Fish’s blog… Could NOT wait to CASE it! Just made 4 last night! (figured while i was punching and big shotting, i may as well do a bunch LOL) Did 2 yellows (one for my mom’s bday whose fave color is yellow) and 2 reds (for Vday; Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose, and Cherry Cobbler)… Can’t wait to play with my color coach and make more!! Wish I could subscribe to your blog (didn’t see a way to)– you make some adorable things!! :)
